80-Bit IEEE-488/Digital I/O Interface

 

The Omega OMB-DIO-488-8 80-bit IEEE to digital I/O interface enables an IEEE controller to program 80 bits of TTL level signals, either as inputs or outputs. The I/O lines are divided into two-40 bit channels, each of which is further divided into five 8-bit ports. Each 8-bit port can be programmed for input or output. Forty of the I/O lines also can be configured as high-current drive outputs, each capable of sinking up to 100 mA. Five additional handshake and control lines are also included for each 40-bit channel.

A non-volatile memory can store power-up information enabling the I/O status an logic level of every I/O line to be defined when power is applied. The non-volatile memory can also store up to 100 setups of the unit, allowing a single pre-defined command form the IEEE controller to control up to 80 bits of information.
